The first round was fierce, as expected. This is a live 40 minute set recorded at KALX 90.7fm radio in March of 2010. You might hear something like this when I perform live. Rubix – Get it Crackin’ Remix

I’ve had this acapella in my collection for years. Rubix was featured on a Fatbeats compilation some years ago with his single Get it Crackin’. I’m not sure if he’s still doing the emcee thing, but I’m going to give him a ring over at Myspace shortly, especially since it says he’s from the Bay Area. Here’s my Remix of Get it Crackin’. Some space-type–glitchy-hip-hop-electro-ish. It is also posted over at my Facebook Page where you can find a boatload of other tracks. I’ll be writing about them here shortly.

I found out about N.A.S.A.’s remix contest a few weeks ago and found some time to churn out a phatty remix that incorporates a 4 different tracks off of their upcoming album, The Spirit of Apollo. You’ll hear Ghostface Killa, Fatlip (formerly of The Pharcyde), M.I.A., and Santigold. Here’s the link to have a listen. Maybe I’ll win.

I was doing my monthly sweep of the hype machine, on the hunt for some acapellas to work into the beats (Tip number 568 for all you producers out there). I stumbled across a remix competition for these cats known as The Delusionists. They’re based out of the U.K.

Was definitely feeling the flow of Ben Black and The Invisible Frenz, though I’d missed the remix competition. Decided to have a go at a remix anyways, and sent the track to the Delusionists. They likey. So, here it is. Ample Mammal’s first official track. It’s a remix, but it’s a banger. Enjoy.

Cerebral Vortex & The Freshest Kids

A few weeks ago I was hunting around for some acapellas on the internets and I stumbled across some Mochipet acapellas. Amongst them were a couple of cuts from these cats known as The Freshest Kids. Buddy Leroy and Cerebral Vortex comprise the duo. I checked out their Myspace and turns out they’re from the Bay Area and Chicago, my 2 recent hoods. Here’s a video.

Anyways, I’m laying down a remix of a track called Rambunktion, and it is sounding pretty ill thus far. It’s definitely throwing the song into a new dimension. I dig me some Elecro hip hop, fer sure. Here’s a snippet.
